Heavens Declare The Glory Of The Lord

Psalm 19: 1

[1] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Many churches show videos of fields and flowers and birds and lakes while playing music to get people into the mood to worship. Those who are babes in Christ may not be able to discern the difference between emotion and Spirit. They think they are in the Spirit while in truth just caught up in emotion.

It is true that these things do in a sense show God’s handiwork. It is amazing that he could make so many things with each being unique and special in it’s own rite.

What are some things that shew not only the God head but declare the glory of the Lord while doing so? Bear in mind we do not worship these but for those who know they can be daily reminders of the Great God of Israel right out in the open for all to see.

Gensis 1: 1-5

[1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. [3] And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. [4] And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. [5] And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

When God said let there be light and saw the light was good he created his Son Jesus. The sun, moon and stars would not be created until the fourth day.

When the word says “In the beginning” it means that “in Christ” all things are created as Jesus created them for his Father. That is why he said “Let us.” The word goes on to even tell us that the Lord said if we be not “in him” we can do nothing as well as so many more scriptures too innumerable to list here.

So what else glorifies the Father, Son and Holy Ghost?

Genesis 1: 14-19

[14] And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: [15] And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. [16] And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. [17] And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, [18] And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. [19] And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

On the fourth day the sun or greater light, the moon or lesser light and the stars were created. These all bear witness unto the Godhead and declare the glory of the Lord.

To start the greater light can be seen as a type and shadow of God Almighty, Jehovah. The greater light. He whom Jesus said has light in himself and has given the Son to have light in himself. Jesus said my Father is greater than all and we all know the word said God is light and in him no darkness at all.

Below are the references for the Father:

John 10: [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

John 5: [26] For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

John 1: [4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

We can see then that this Spirit is life and light. He hath given his Son to have life (light) in himself as well which brings us unto the lesser light, the moon.

We have all learned the moon does not give off light but reflects the light of the sun. In like manner we see that Jesus is the express image of God and a light come into darkness. He said he that has seen me hath seen the Father. His express image and not him being God Almighty.

Note that the word says that Jesus was created a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death yet crowned with all glory and honor. The lesser light that would divide light from darkness There is one mediator between man and God, the man Christ Jesus. The moon being a type and shadow of Jesus who is the mediator separating light or God from a darkened world of sin or as written God who is holy is sanctified in righteousness. And again of him are ye in Christ Jesus who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.

This brings us unto the stars.

Genesis 15: 5

[5] And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

When we see the stars at night we can see a type and shadow of the children of Abraham. Christians per se.

Paul wrote that in the last days there would be a great falling away just as Jesus said before his return the stars would fall from the heavens. Combine them and we can see that in these last days when all sin and abomination is embraced by the church perilous times have come and the stars are falling from the sky as names are blotted out of the Book of Life.

For those of us who believe and trust the Lord and love him above all else and strive for the one true faith and are obedient unto his word we have another comfort right overhead each day and night. Right before our eyes for all to see.

We do not worship the sun, moon and stars nor put our faith in them. But they are an interesting reminder that the heavens declare the glory of the Lord.

May God bless.
